More images from the Islamic Republic of Iran

Since there's so much debate going on now about what to do about Iran, I thought I'd begin a series of reports about what life is like in the Islamic Republic. Not that I would know, but perhaps we can glean something from these images, courtesy of the Iranian state-run FARS News Agency. As they say, one picture is worth a thousand words.

The accompanying FARS News Agency caption reads: "Iranian Shiites mourn the anniversary of martyrdom of their Imam Ali (PBUH) and pray during Ghadr Nights when they believe Koran was inspired to their prophet Mohammad (PBUH) by Allah." So what do you suppose she's doing with the cellphone?

The FARS News Agency caption reads: "Lawmakers at the Iranian Parliament gathered today to hold a normal session." I wonder if anyone would ever use the word normal to describe a session of U.S. Congress. I have to say, he looks like he doesn't mind in the least being the only guy sitting among the ladies.

Digg!
