Kagan's Plan for Victory in Iraq

Frederick W. Kagan, the miltary historian at AEI, makes a compelling case for why, to use his words, "victory in Iraq is vital to America's security" arguing that "defeat will likely lead to regional conflict, humanitarian catastrophe, and increased globabl terrorism."

Moreover he contends that "America, a country of 300 million people with a GDP of $12 trillion and more than 1 millioin soldiers and Marines, has the resources to stabilize Iraq, a state the size of California with a population of 25 million and a GDP under $100 billion."

What's refreshing about Kagan is that he doesn't just indulge in criticism or try to show off his knowledge of military history but lays out the specifics of a plan.
