Kuwaiti MPs want to severe ties with Arab countries critical of Saddam's execution

The Agence France Presse is reporting that some Kuwaiti Members of Parliament are pressing for the government to sever diplomatic relations and stop foreign aid to any Arab countries that criticise the execution of Saddam Hussein.

In 1990, Saddam invaded and annexed Kuwait and his forces killed some 1,000 Kuwaitis before he was driven out by a U.S.-led coalition.

"The foreign minister must reconsider Kuwait's ties with Libya, Yemen and some Palestinian factions like Hamas," MP Khaled al-Adwah is quoted as saying.

Other Kuwaiti MPs are asking the government to reconsider its relations with Jordan, the Palestinian Authority, Algeria and Tunisia as well.
